How do I transfer a domain name

Posted by OvalEye on July 29, 2008 9:46pm (3 posts)

Registered Name Holders must be able to transfer their domain name registrations between Registrars. Domain name transfer processes must be clear and concise in order to avoid confusion. A registrar transfer will move the domain name from the current registrar to our registrar.

Clients who want to transfer to OvalEye Web Solutions, I take care of this process for them. It can be a bit frustrating at times. Whoever starts the transfer process, they will need to know where the domain name is registered with and their username and password to get into the domain name access.

Once you have access to your own domain name account, you will find the "transfer" information in your account. The transfer process will include an Authorization Code and will need to be used with your new registrar. It can take up to a week or over night.

You are in control of your domain name. It's real estate on the internet. So be careful and know the rules.
