Mom and I had a working lunch over sushi today. Neither one of us is very adventurous when it comes to sushi, so when we got this on our table we both laughed after thinking we were ordering our usual avocado and tune based sushi rolls.
We were both in the office for most of the day answering support emails and working on a few upcoming in house projects (like a new ovaleye.com!). We quickly put up a fun Playlist on Youtube to listen to while in the office (below). What do you listen to while you are working at your desk?

Another example would be to market to your service area. If you are a carpet cleaner you probably already have yourbusinessname.com, but you can also get citynamecarpetcleaner.com, which is very memorable for potential clients in that area.
You may also want to protect your brand/business name by obtaining all of the domain name extensions. For example, we have Ovaleye.com, Ovaleye.net, Ovaleye.info, Ovaleye.tv, and so on. These can all have separate websites or can all be pointed to your main website, either way you own the domain name, and it is not available for someone else to purchase.
If you have a marketing campaign you are promoting, you can get the project name as the domain name; This is great for search engine keywords too. No need to create a website, you can point the domain name to the product, service or campaign's page on your website.
You could gift a domain name, yes, even for a business. Buy your employeename.com and direct it to an employee's own blog, linkedin page, or bio page on the company webpage. Take it one step further and get companynameonFacebook.com and direct it to your Facebook page.
Domain names are inexpensive and very fast and easy to obtain. Do a quick search for a name and get your domain names to kick start your marketing!
