Poke the BoxPoke the Box
By Seth Godin

Seth Godin did it again. Following the hoof steps of Purple Cow, Poke the Box packs a great message into a fairly short book. It stays on point and drives it home with a punch rather than just a poke. The book inspires you... no, better to say it DRIVES you... to want to start something. In fact that is the theme of the entire book – 'just start'.

Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds, and ActionsEnchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds, and Actions
By Guy Kawasaki

Ovaleye loves Guy Kawasaki. He is informative. He is entertaining. He is motivational. His new book, Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds, and Actions, had all those qualities too. It provided a good perspective into the art of enchanting people. It just wasn't all that remarkable though. Not remarkable in the sense that while reading it during my morning workout it never excited me to jump in the car afterwards and tell Kathy about it on our ride home from the gym.

The Chic Entrepreneur: Put Your Business in Higher Heels
By: Elizabeth Gordon

This book now belongs with my favorites, I absolutely loved it! There are so many great references I don't know where to begin! Each chapter has a short story, relating to the chapters subject, comparing two peoples business ventures. One person fails and the other succeeds, after the short story the author gives a summary of who did what right and wrong and why they failed and succeeded.

Another great element of this book is the detailed analysis of highly successful world renowned businesses. Hitting key points on what makes Google, Nordstrom, Nike, Microsoft and more such great companies to work for and why they are so successful.

Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and PurposeDelivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose
By Tony Hsieh

What a pleasure this book was to read, or in my case to listen to. This can be attributed to, in great extent, the fact that the author, Tony Hsieh, narrated the book. This can be so important for a book like this. You really get the personality and passion of the author. The audio book also had a bonus interview at the end where you get to know Tony that much more.
